Hi,

Unwachted movies do not have an icon while wachted movies do.

Personally I find this really strange.

Plex does it the other way around and to me that makes much mor sense. Unwatched movies should jump out in the movie library, not watched movies.

Is there a way to reverse this in Emby? And if not, is there a way to turn the watched/unwachted status off all together?

Thanks

Have you tried the 'Hide watched content from latest media' setting at the botton of the 'Home Screen' Display settings?

There are also filters for library listings, so you only need to see 'Unplayed', (or 'Played', for that matter).

Yes I know about both settings but that is not really what I am looking for.

My home screen layout is really basic. It only has one Library Movies and one library Tv Shows. I Like it really clean and don't need all the continue watching or new media etc.

In my movie library itself I also don't want to filter on watched/unwatched as I like to browse all movies at once.

Ideally I would like the unwatched movies to be marked and watched not marked as I feel it makes more sense. But I guess that's not an option in Emby so alternatively I would like to get rid of the entire watched/unwatched marking system.

I think it just looks silly and pointless to have all seen movies marked

You might be able to accomplish the "get rid of the entire watched/unwatched marking system" part using 'Custom CSS', but it would only apply to the browser client.

Otherwise, I recommend a 'Feature Request' & see whether other users share your preference.

I just found that the exact same thing has been requested in the past. It dates from 2017 so I won't hold my breath. In the end this might be a dealbreaker for me though.

I guess most people just don't really care what is marked in their library.

But when given the choice, there is just no way the majority of people would opt for watched marked over unwatched. It's just illogical. It's like people are checking off a grocery list like they need to go trough their library asap instead of the practical purpose of seeing what's left to watch.

Options are always possible for the future. Thanks for the feedback.
