crusher11 1101 Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 I moved my server from my PC to my NAS recently. On the Android mobile app I used Emby Connect to sign in to the PC server and all worked fine. The NAS server says it's unavailable if I try to use Emby Connect remotely. Emby Connect works fine locally, and my domain works fine remotely, I just can't get Connect to work.
Luke 42078 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.
crusher11 1101 Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 I'm able to connect remotely using my domain. It's only Emby Connect that isn't working.
Luke 42078 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Does your emby server dashboard display the correct remote address?
crusher11 1101 Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 It's the right domain but the wrong port. I have 443 mapped to 4343 in my router, and 4343 as my public port in Emby network settings. Dashboard shows 4343.
Luke 42078 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 The port for the remote address will come from the public port in network settings.
crusher11 1101 Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 If I have a domain, why does it need a port at all? I don't use one when connecting manually.
ebr 16174 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 If I have a domain, why does it need a port at all? I don't use one when connecting manually. Every http interaction happens on a particular port. When you don't supply one, the default is used.
crusher11 1101 Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 If it used the default, I'd be fine, I have 443 mapped to 4343. But since it uses 4343, it goes nowhere.
Luke 42078 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Ultimately you need to configure the network settings appropriately so that the server dashboard displays your correct remote address. Once you've done this, that should resolve your issue.
