Zelxy 0 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 So I'm trying to play MKV's with embedded subs (English ASS) and while it detects that there are subs, it doesn't display them on TV. I've tried on my phone (Android) and computer web browser (Firefox) and it works fine. It's just on the tv that I have issues. I have an LG webOS TV LJ590U running on version 05.80.35. I have the logs of me playing an episode attached.
Guest Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I have no problem displaying external subtitles in .SRT format, on LG TV models. One would imagine that your model does not support the SSA format and this can be seen in the online TV manual. To avoid these problems, I always convert the mkv video to fix the caption.

I'm going to test that way. The manual does say it supports MKV and SSA format for the subs. Hi there, let's look at an example.
