Hello.

When i enter a series, I typically like to have my specials or extras at the very end of the row of seasons.

I achieve this by putting numbers in the "sort order" field for each season, and have the specials folder sort to 9999, so no matter what, it's at the very end of the row.

This function seems broken now, and they seem to now sort by the season number only.

I run server 4.4.2.0 on a synology

The library is Mixed Content type

Thanks for the help !

Hi, yes that's true. There's currently no way to do this right now because they are being sorted by number. It's something we can review in a future update. Thanks.

It used to work fine (prior to server 4.4.1.0, i think...) and I used it on all my series.

Thank you in advance for looking into it !

Don't mean to hijack this, but it's relevant to my interests. Could you potentially allow for half decimal episode listings?  For example, in the case of one show, we have an "Episode 21.5", if I try to put that into the metadata info, it says you can't do half decimals. I realize it's an incredible niche area of attention, but it'd be really nice. Like Macross 7 has these Encore Episodes that go after Episode 37. But in Emby they're sorted as just the Specials, as they got released after. I went to put them as like 37.1, 37.2, 37.3 - ect, and have them show up ahead of Episode 38. It'd just be a nice little something.

I have a couple of instances that would benefit from this as well.

Sometimes you have to trick or fool the system and find a way to force things the way you want it. For me I don't really care if the specials are at the beginning or the end, but if you want them at the end and it only will sort by season number then the way I would go about it is use something like Media Center Master create the XML files for the specials, then edit the XML files to a season number higher then the last one which will make it appear at the end. The Poster JPG would still say Specials or extras on it. First you need to install the Plug-In Emby Xml, than you have to change the library settings by editing each library setting and change the Metadata readers from NFO to Emby Xml as the preferred local metadata sources. When the library is scanned it will use the XML metadata and import it because you used a none existing season in theTVDB site it will read it from the XML file rather then giving you an error.

I use this method when I don't like what theTVDB does to its episode or season order.

Thank you very much for this tip. However, until Luke fixes the sort order issue, i did find a temporary workaround. But i would still prefer the issue be fixed officially.
