crusher11 1102 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I have a few titles I want to display in multiple locations. For example, I have Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me in both the Specials for the Twin Peaks TV show and in my Movies library. I have the 1995 game between the Perth Wildcats and the Houston Rockets in both my NBL and NBA sections. To save space, I do this via a strm file. The actual MKV goes in one folder, the strm goes in another and simply points at the MKV. But this means chapter points don't display. Would copying and renaming the bif file be sufficient? If not, is there another way to make it work, other than creating a second identical MKV?
Luke 42085 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 It's currently not supported, but possible for the future. Thanks.
crusher11 1102 Posted May 9, 2020 Author Posted May 9, 2020 Is it possible for Emby to tell if a strm file points to a local or remote file?
Luke 42085 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Yes based on the contents, although currently we don't examine it until the first time you play the strm.
crusher11 1102 Posted May 9, 2020 Author Posted May 9, 2020 Wouldn't it make sense to check initially, and then if it's local load subtitle, audio track and chapter information?
Luke 42085 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Yes it's always possible to add enhancements for strms pointing to local files. Thanks for the feedback.
