Hi there,

I have a Music Library in Emby, but am experiencing a problem adding new music.

Every new Album I add, despite it being correctly identified (I even identify it with the MusicBrainz ID), the Artist on every track in that album is completely wrong.  For example, I add an Album by 'Fleet Foxes', and although the Album is correctly identified as being by Fleet Foxes, the artist against each track in that album is set to 'Hayley Westenra'.

This happens with every new album I add.  All of the tracks are labelled as being by 'Hayley Westenra'.  I can manually change each and every track, but if I rescan the metadata, it's all put back to Hayley Westenra.

How do I stop this from happening and get the metadata refresh working correctly,  this is driving me crazy!

Many thanks

Hi Luke.  Oh yes of course, silly me.  Attached server log now.   I literally just added an Album by 'Fleet Foxes;, but the artist is showing as Hayley Westenra.   Cheers.

Oh, and also, I have checked all of the tags within the MP3 files, and all looks present and good. It's only when I add the album to Emby it is incorrectly identified.

I have a similar issue and I can't fix it. Albums which I have had forever are showing with the wrong artist on the track level. I manually clean it up and the lock the tracks but Emby still overwrites it with the wrong Artist info.

This data is almost always pulled from tags in the files.  If you haven't already, run it through MP3Tag and be sure to check the extended tags.  People pretty consistently find those wrong values are recorded in tags there that they didn't know about because the extended tags don't show in the main MP3Tag UI.

Yes, this seems to be helping. Thanks much!
