Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I love this! Is this new since the update? Or have I just never added a tv show that had this implemented before? How do I set up other shows to put specials mixed in to their appropriate seasons?
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) It's a global setting.on the Advanced tab of the library section of the server, at the bottom of this screenshot: Paul Edited May 6, 2020 by pwhodges 1
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 I do have that selected, but how is it decided where they show up? "Out of the Thick of it" is a behind the scenes look at episode 1, so it's great that it is put there. However, Other shows with behind the scenes extras or deleted scenes are not showing up this way.
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Well, presumably it depends on the metadata having the relevant information. Paul
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 That's what I mean. I added no metadata myself. I just imported the series and it sorted itself like that. Where did it pull the sort metadata from? tvdb?
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) That questions goes beyond my knowledge... Sorry But you can of course edit the metadata of a special to add the information of where it should go if the automatic system is failing you. Paul Edited May 6, 2020 by pwhodges
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) What in particular is it taking from tvdb? I'd love to set up my other series to look the same way. Edit: I think I found it. So a file has to be titled "Special xxxx" in order for the appropriate options to pop up, right? How do people tend to number custom specials as not to interfere with tvdb? Do you just pick a high number like "Special S00E101"? Edited May 6, 2020 by Bigmack3000
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 no just S00Exx to match the specials on tvdb - and emby will pull the airs before etc from tvdb yes anything not matching tvdb will be a normal special unless you edit its metadata for airs before/after etc i do have mine starting at 100 for things that dont match tvdb to leave room for the additions that happen from time to time
Bigmack3000 107 Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) Great, thanks! Is it possible to not have a file show up in "specials" once I assign it to a season? That way it's not showing up in multiple spots? Also, is this generally the route people take to add in "previously on" segments? Edited May 7, 2020 by Bigmack3000
