Hi,

 

i dont get surround sound from x264 mp4 video files.. mkv have surround sound...

if i watch the MP4 with VLC the surround sound works, but not in emby :huh:

Is it just a setting? What do i have to do?

What client/app? Can you go over the media info of and example.

EDIT: just tried firefox: there i have surround sound wtf -.-.. i switched to edge because of the emby stop playing bug.. mhhh dont know if i still have the stop problem with firefox...

so its a edge problem....





WHAT I HAVE NOTICED: Edge is grabbing the complete sound from my PC, i dont here anything else when i watch in edge.. Firefox dont act like this... Can i set the edge to act like the firefox with the sound?

Edge is currently the only browser that supports Dolby Digital (AC3), Emby should be direct playing the media.  All other browsers would be converting the audio to another format.

 

But in the example above the media is Stereo.

I have surround sound with chrome now.. so for the moment i will use chrome and forget edge ;)

@@Happy2Play yeah i saw it too stereo BUT it have surround sound ;)

I guess I am confused.  How is 2 channel, surround sound?

I dont have any idea, i not deep into sound configs and so on.. but i have surround sound thats fact with this file above :D

just not in edge.. but everywhere else :D

Two channel Dolby Digital can include extra channels through matrixing.  From the Wikipedia list of configurations for it:

Dolby Digital 2/0 - 2-channel stereo (left + right), optionally carrying matrixed Dolby Surround
