Hello

i manage all my media with "Tiny Media Manger"  - i create my own nfo and save it with all the artwork in the movie folders in kodi standart

i have really hard problems to get my movies scanned in emby i tryed everything some movies work some not its really strange i can not find out what i do wrong

strange thing is on some movies it use local artwork and sometimes it adds this link buttons for imdb and trak in the overwiew but no title or other meta stuff

some will get wrong title and not nearly the title from nfo even with right title and imdb id inside nfo

i attached my folder structur complete with my local meta and a emby log (yea i know ffmp gets error thats coz its 0byte mkv i created for test porpuse .. even with the "real" files no meta scrapping possible)

if i scan with jellyfin the same "test" folder it scrapped all movies with title meta etc right (screenshot from emby and jellyfin inside)

i testet it on my lokal Synology install and on my webserver install - both running latest stable (4.4.2.0) and both installations habe problems to scrape my content or read the titel and meta from the local nfo

mybe i dont know whats the right settings in add libary are? is there a trick? i know from kodi i can use settings like "use local data only" and plex even has something like this
and i know that emby should use local data before it looks outside right?

i tryed with and without advanced settings
checking everything or uncheck everything

in my exemple i attached i have 4 times the same movie (different version DC, uncut etc..) one works scrapping the other not? why?
and one movie it only uses artwork from folder nothing else

i can provide hunderts more they dont work :/ (i have thousends and some works ^^)

scrapping my collection with kodi working perfect

please help me i really want use emby as my media server ! i allready subscribe for premerie because i like it and hope its on my side that it dont work as i wish :/

let me know what infos you need i can provide all you want to fix this (if its a bug)

what i dont want is that emby write to my nfo or save something in my media folders thats why i disabled everything who can do this (nfo saver and nfo meta played last thing)

inside the RARfile are my test media folder with everything original and the mkv replaced with one with 0byte for filename etc

i testet few more things i guess i know whats the problem is

emby dont like "movie.nfo" it wants "filename.nfo" OR filename.nfo has a higher prio then "movie.nfo" if i have both inside

so do i have override all my original scene release nfos or is there a way to choos if i want use filename.nfo or movie.nfo

it is no problem for me to delete every nfo in my collection and let tiny media manager write the new ones

but i would like to keep my original scene NFOs if possible :/

is there no way for your scrapper that do something like this?

checking files inside folder
ah there are poster.jpg fanart.jpg - check use this
looking for *NFO files - two nfo files found
reading filename.nfo - negativ bad nfo checking other nfo
reading movie.nfo - allright there are everything i need

Hi, so you're saying you have two different nfo's for the same video file?

Posted (edited)

Yes i had two differnt nfos

The original ones from the „scene“ and my self created ones with meta stuff called „movie.nfo“

But after deleting all nfos and switching from „movie.nfo“ to „filename.nfo“ it seems to scrap now everything in the right way

trying with only „movie.nfo“ seems to not work properly .. nfo must be same name as the mkv

Ok I guess that's something that would require settings to allow you to prioritize.

Get your media legally and you don't have that problem.

Or, use the xml files instead of nfo files for Emby

no problem i dont need that i fixed it by replacing every nfo with new ones .. i came from kodi and there work nfo files who only called "movie.nfo" instead of filename.nfo

<VideoFileName>.nfo

NFO Files are named the same as the video file except with the .nfo extension. See image below.
We recommend using this format to name nfo files.

movie.nfo
Kodi may also scan nfo files named movie.nfo. To use this name, the setting Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title must be Enabled

Get your media legally and you don't have that problem.

thx for the tipp ... my bad.. i didnt know that legally media would be scrapped better :o  ;)

Or, use the xml files instead of nfo files for Emby

tinyMediaManager didnt have the option for export xml it only can write nfo

but no problem there is a option inside for setting nfo to filename and that fixed everything for me

anyways thx for your time :) i love emby!
