Hi all

I rip all my movies with all embedded subtitles in one .MKV file.

After that I find out which subtitle contains what kind of content - real subtitle, filmers comments, only forced etc. and give the subtitles a useful name.

The names are stored in the name tag of the MKV header.

After I upload the file to emby, the movie will be shown only with subtilte language and codec (german - PGSSUB) for each present subtitle in the subtitle pull down box.

It is hard to find the subtitle you want to look at if there are more that one - simlpy try out :(

The same is true if you try to switch on subtitle while watching the movie.

Is there a possibility emby looks into the MKV header and use the embedded name tag to organize the subtitle drop down box?

Is there a possibility to manualy edit the names of the subtitles inside emby or the used metadata?

Thanks for any help ladies and gentleman!

This is an option, which I use - though as I include the language in some situations, it can look a bit odd as Emby still adds the language at the start.

Here is where you set it (in the global library options):

And this is what it looks like for me:

Hope that helps.  Note, the one setting affects the names of audio tracks as well.
