Silentalero 5 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 So ive noticed alot of my movies are mislabeled and couldnt figure out why (i use Media Center Master). What I just learned is emby is also trying to label everything. And im noticing alot of movies are wrong (For instance, i have Scorpion King, it labeled it as The mummy Returns). Is this due to both trying to name it? Or is there a way we can have the META portion of EMBY check with us before it names a movie? Because it auto doing this without interation seems to be causing errors.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Depending on your MCM settings, Emby will only use the xml metadata if you have the XML Metadata plugin. So Emby would be reidentifing all your said known media. Now we would have to go over a specific example with a log to see what is happening. What are you referring to when you say "check with us before it names a movie", as there is only one name, the title returned from provider. Foldername is what is used to search provider sites. You can edit Title to anything you like in the Metadata.
Luke 42080 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Hi there, can you please go over an example? Thanks.
Silentalero 5 Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Sure Luke, I run MCM after i sort movies (i have a completed folder). MCM is always running in the background and finds the new movie and tags it. Im guessing EMBY gets the last laugh and writes over the movie files with its own assumption of the movie. Automatically put in the "Mummy" collection by EMBY Plugin. But when I play the movie, its the scorpion king, there were 2 copies of Scorpion King (low and high quality, i was in the process of replacing). I went to the collection of Mummy and 2 copies showed of The Mummy Returns, both were Scorpion king. And MCM has the pop up to stop this when it asks me to confirm any movie that may have alternative options. Depending on your MCM settings, Emby will only use the xml metadata if you have the XML Metadata plugin. MCM for instance, if its not sure on a movie, or there are multiple potential options, a pop up comes out and it asks me to confirm which movie from which year it is. This way movies arent being automatically mislabeled.
Luke 42080 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Can we please look at the file and folder naming, along with the server log from when it was imported? thanks.
