Firestick 4k H264 transcoding: Video level not supported

Seeing this lately, latest server beta and lates stable Andorid app on Firestik 4K

 

Transcode reason: Video level not supported

Maybe Profile main level 51 combination is the issue ?

Correct.  According to their specs only profile up to 4 is supported.

Unfortunately, a poor encode as there is zero reason to use Level 5.1, that particular encode could get away with 3.1

 

I've used the utility below to change the level to a more suitable one without the need to re-encode - it just changes the header.

 

I wrote a script actually to scan for the level and if above 4 then modify to level 4 which is suitable for the majority of normal film 1080p.

Yeah, there is nothing about that video that should cause it to be level 5.
