NolesFan78 0 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) I have a particular set of media (Torchlighters DVD rips) that will not launch in any of the Emby players. This media is identical to other TV and movie files I have in Emby. The same set of file system permissions are in place for all the media. I can view these media files from the file system directly using Quicktime Player and VLC. I just can't view this media from Emby. My attempts include the web player, the Apple TV player, and the uPnP plugin (via VLC). I've included a fresh embyserver.txt file with debugging enabled that includes 1) scanning of this media into Emby library, and 2) attempt to launch one of the media files. Would love some help figuring out why Emby hates this particular set of media files. Emby Server 4.4.2.0 Debian 9 Firefox 75 Apple TV iOS 13 EDIT: I was wrong about UPnP. Can't play the media through that, either. embyserver.txt Edited May 3, 2020 by NolesFan78
Luke 42085 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Hi, can you capture the contents of the browser debug console? Thanks.
NolesFan78 0 Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 Firefox 'Console' and 'Network' logs attached. Just a few more observations: I made a correction in the original posting about UPnP. This media can't be played by Emby *at all*, not even via UPnP to VLC. Emby doesn't present this media as a list of items to select, as it does with others. My only option for selecting any of the items is via the "Up Next" list. Screenshot attached. console-export-2020-5-3_5-26-46.txt media01.server.network_Archive 20-05-03 05-27-07.har.zip
Luke 42085 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Ok so you're pressing play on the series. What is the file and folder structure of the series?
NolesFan78 0 Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Hi Luke, I wasn't pressing "Play" on the series or "Play All", but I did try "Play All" and it started playing the first file that wouldn't play when selected via "Play Next". I think you've found the problem. The media isn't a TV series, this I didn't have the folder structure setup into seasons. I moved this media to a "Mixed Content" library and all the media is listed and playable as expected. Thanks for diving into this with me. I consider this resolved by changing the library type.
Luke 42085 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Ok, we'll have to look at this to make sure the situation is handled better than that. Thanks for the feedback.
