Jibest 27 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Hi, I've a few files with multiple episodes and normally I name them as follows Sxxexxexx This has worked fine so far but now I have files with multiple episodes where the episodes are not in the right order. For example one file has e03 & e05 but not e04. When I named it sxxe03e05 Emby names the file as if it also includes episode 4, so it is doing episode 3 through 5 instead of just episode 3 & episode 5. I've looked at the naming guide and tried most of them but so far I haven't been able to get it to identify the present episodes correctly? Is this possible? I'd rather not have to start editing the files to split them up unless absolutely needed.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 This isn't possible. Use MKVtoolnix to split the files.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Yes those items are really impossible to work with. Just like there is no way for any program to know how to just play that second episode even if we could work with then, unless the software just guessed and used the middle of the full duration. But as Deathsquirrel mention only spitting them will get them identified and played in the proper order.

Luke 42085 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 To be honest when this was built I just never knew that people actually did it this way. It's something that can be changed in the future although it will require some database restructuring, so it's not a simple thing.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 It is just how lots of cartoons are now. Two episode but not sequential.
