Lane03 14 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) I recently upgraded emby server from 4.1 to 4.4 in effort to fix what I thought was a bug. It turns out that bug is a limitation of the Roku app. However, after updating the Emby server at least one collection has disappeared from the server. I had a collection titled "... Has Fallen Collection" which was made up of 2 movies. After the update the collection is gone as are the two movies (Olympus has Fallen and London has Fallen). I have tried re-scanning the libraries again without any luck. Prior to the updates the collection displayed properly. So far this appears to be the only lost collection (possibly due to how the collection and directory are named?), but I do have over 150 collections so it's not that easy to see if something is missing. This one happened to stand out as it was the very first collection when sorted alphabetically. Edit: Ironically the "... Has Fallen Collection [boxset]" is still listed in AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\data\collections and according to Windows the XML file hasn't been touched since I first created the collection back in 2018. Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Well periods are a issue, but I believe they are remove characters also. Haven't check at Luke changed then to there numeric value. But my "... Has Fallen Collection" is found under "H", and is searchable. Have you searched or looked in the "H"s? May need to apply a Sort Name. Edited May 2, 2020 by Happy2Play
Lane03 14 Posted May 2, 2020 Author Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Previously the ... prefix would cause the collection to be at the top in the # category. Yes, I also checked under H and searched for "London" and "Fallen", all with zero results. I got the two movies to appear by renaming the directory from "... Has Fallen Collection" to "Has Fallen Collection" and then created a new collection without using the ... prefix. So I'm all good now, but something to keep in mind from a coding point of view as it used to work fine and keep the collection during previous upgrades. Edited May 2, 2020 by Lane03
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 But do to all the other systems that have multiple folders that start with period, workarounds have been implemented to ignore folders with periods, MacOS for example. So fixing it for one system will have an affect on others. But this example has been brought up before, will link it is I can find it. But double checking my collection is "Has Fallen Collection [boxset]" in collection folder, but do not remember is I manually changed it some time ago.
