Chuck 17 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Hi ... Just set-up MB3, and so far so good. However, it seems that I'm not pulling people images, genre images, studio images, etc. I've copied the original ImagesByName folder from the earlier MB version to the MB3 Client folder in ProgramData. I see that I can manually update the images from within the web browser client, but there an awful lot of people images, etc., to have to update them one by one. How can I either 1) refresh the image cash for these images automatically, or 2) put the images in the right location so that the server will recognize the folder structure and images? Thanks in adance!
yardameus 221 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Unless you told MB server to look in a different spot, the default spot for the images by name is actually here: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName
Chuck 17 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 I copied the ImagesByName folder from C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser\ImagesByName to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName Then, in the Default Media Library Settings, selected Use Custom ImageByName path, and set the path to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName Sub folders are structured from original Media Browser ... C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName\People C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName\Genre
Chuck 17 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 PS ... When I took a look at the ImagesByName folder under C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName ... It looks like the various people are there ... but there are no images Could this be a download setting somewhere that needs to download the people images? Setting the Genre images manually is no big deal.
Luke 42077 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 if you have a predefined IBN structure, which you do, and you change the configuration to point to that location, it should work. can someone give it a test and verify?
Solution Xzener 729 Posted October 10, 2013 Solution Posted October 10, 2013 Chuck, Have you ran the "Refresh People" scheduled task?? (Although its late, it may have ran by the time you read this)
Chuck 17 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Just hit the button ... it was to run in about two hours ... but it looks like this might be working. I suppose the first run is a bit lengthy.
ebr 16169 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I copied the ImagesByName folder from C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser\ImagesByName to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName Then, in the Default Media Library Settings, selected Use Custom ImageByName path, and set the path to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName Sub folders are structured from original Media Browser ... C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName\People C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName\Genre The IBN is a feature of the server now. MBC is just a client. So, you need to copy your structure to the server location or point the server to wherever your structure is.
Chuck 17 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Thanks ... the challenge was to simply run the scheduled task. Rookie mistake
