Guest Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) Hi, This is just a simple idea but it would make it a lot easier for me. I sort all libraries in alphabetical order, but Emby does not consider adjectives. For example, the movie The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) is ordered in the letter O (The Other ...) because Emby despises the adjective The. So I would like to know, if it is possible to make Emby consider the adjective and order this film in the letter T (The Other ...). I thought that some HTML or CSS code could solve this. Thank you very much Edited May 1, 2020 by CarlosLima
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 You would have to modify your system.xml as these are coded SortRemoveWords. In theory these should be configurable via the UI. <SortRemoveWords> <string>the</string> <string>a</string> <string>an</string> <string>das</string> <string>der</string> <string>el</string> <string>la</string> </SortRemoveWords>
Guest Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Hi,Thanks for all your help.I found the area in the system.xml, but I don't know what to do with it.Thank you
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 FYI it works that way because that's how you alphabetize things in English. You can edit the XML if you wish to sort things incorrectly. You can also use the Sort Title value in the metadata editor. If you put The Other Boleyn Girl in the Sort Title Value and only that title will be incorrectly moved to the Ts.

Hi, Yes, of course, I know that in English it is correct and I did not mention that it would be wrong. I use the Brazilian Portuguese language for the titles and here the correct alphabetical order considers the adjective. I also know that editing the title in the film I get the result I want and I do it that way, but I thought of a way to not have the trouble of editing one by one. Thank you
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Just remove the strings from the system.xml and do a library scan. Should apply to all items.
