Guest Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Video mediainfo: Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Main@L4 Format settings : CABAC / 4 Ref Frames Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, Reference frames : 4 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 23 min 18 s Bit rate : 8 424 kb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 25.000 FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Interlaced Scan type, store method : Separated fields Scan order : Top Field First Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.163 Stream size : 1.37 GiB (94%) Default : Yes Forced : No Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.709 Transfer characteristics : BT.709 Matrix coefficients : BT.709 It plays back in a very very stuttery frame rate but I'm not sure how to check what the frame rate actually is. I've tested this on MULTIPLE devices and MULTIPLE browsers, here are my results: - Chrome: Infinite loading circle indicator- Firefox: Plays, in a stuttered frame rate- Android TV: Plays perfectly fine Just so you're aware, when playing this with MPV on a PC, and holding I, the frame rates state: "Specified 50.000, Estimated 25.000"Every 2nd frame is a duplicate frame.
Luke 42083 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Based on that i would guess it's direct playing but the browser video player is having difficulty with it. If you lower the in-app quality setting to force transcoding, how does that compare?

There's nothing we can do to make the direct play work, it's a problem with the browser video player. The best we can do is try to recover and automatically switch to transcoding.
