Edit Metadata Question

Hi all,

I've noticed this while adding tags to a couple of movies.

When editing the metadata of a movie from "Latest Movies",

the movie disappears from the "latest" section in Emby home

after saving the updated metadata.

My guess would be that this is not by design?!

Best regards

No, did you check the date added value for this title and compare it to the others?

Hi Luke,

I just did and I must correct my initial statement. The edited items do not disappear from

latest, they are moved all the way to right - off screen in my case.

As far as 'date added' goes, the edited movie's 'date added' is 30.04.2020, same as

the left-most entry in latest.

If they all have the same date added, then the time stamp is used for the presented order.

Does this answer your question?

If they all have the same date added, then the time stamp is used for the presented order.

Does the timestamp change when updating and saving metadata? Why would the edited entry

suddenly be 'older', meaning further to the right in the 'latest' section.

Example:

Original order in 'latest':

1 2 3

Order after adding a tag to '1' and saving the metadata.

2 3 1

Seems strange to me.

Best regards

The date added value would not change when using the metadata editor.

The date added value would not change when using the metadata editor.

Is the behavior I described in my previous post intended?

It's definetly not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.

You mean about the date changing? No.

Not the date. The order.

Before adding a tag to '3'

3 2 1

After adding a tag to '3'

2 1 3

No, adding tags should not affect display order.
