justin_looking_glass 37 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) When a client connects and plays a movie, sometimes I'll see a green progress bar, and a red progress bar which goes much further out. It's my understanding that this red bar indicates the position of either buffer or position of transcoding done so far. Other times, when I look, I see a green progress bar and no red line.Is there any way for me to see how far in advance a client device has buffered? There are times when I want to restart the Emby service for whatever reason, but without knowing how far in advance they have the video buffered, I'm not sure what the odds are that I'll get the server up and running again before they hit the end of their buffer and "notice" the server isn't up. rechigo 364 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 The green progress bar indicates rhe current playback position, the red bar (if present) indicates the transcoding buffer (how much of the file has been transcoded by the server) If you do shut down/restart the server, supported clients will receive a small notification (toast) in the bottom left indicating the server is being restarted/shut down Right now, there isn't any way to see how much a client has buffered via the dashboard Sent from my Galaxy S10
