Albums shown with incorrect artists

There's an odd issue with the way that Emby tags some music I have (which is correctly tagged).

For example, I've added some John Cale albums - specifically, Paris 1919 and Music for a New Society. I also have an album already added, John Cale & Lou Reed's Songs for Drella.

Now, those solo John Cale albums show up with the artist set to "John Cale & Lou Reed" even though their metadata has them as solo albums.

The genres are shown exactly as tagged so Emby is getting those directly from the metadata but seems to be retrieving the album artist incorrectly.

Any help appreciated,

P

If you go into the metadata for "Songs for Drella" does the Artist ID show one or two Musicbrain artists?  If it's just one when you click the link does it take you to John Cale?

I think there might be an issue by naming the artist "John Cale & Lou Reed", because that's technically not the name of an artist, it's two separate ones.

What I would do is cut the Drella album and paste is somewhere else, Then run a full library scan and see if that fixes the solo albums, If not refresh the metadata on the albums and artist and run another scan?

Then use a program like mp3tag to play around with Drella and see if you can get the data right.  I'd start by setting all songs to have John Cale as the Album artist, and set Artist to John Cale & Lou Reed (or maybe John Cale, Lou Reed).  Then copy/paste it back to your music directory and run a scan.
