bellocarico 4 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 How do I make Emby displaying the poster image that is stored within the media folder of choice? Thanks
neik 873 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Afaik you just have to follow the naming convention Emby supports: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming
bellocarico 4 Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 Thanks but I am not discussing the matching (or identifying) here. I was wondering if there's a setting where I can prefer local media assets like image and subtitles that are stored in the same folder where the media file lives. Plex has this and I think it's helpful that's all.
neik 873 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Sorry, misunderstood it then. I don't know if that's possible but someone will for sure. :-)
Happy2Play 9780 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Can you go over a specific example where Emby is not already do thing. I know Emby uses my properly named images that resides with media.
brett_1968 1 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 There is a naming convention for image files:- poster, fanart, logo, banner, disc, etc. I can't file a list in the documentation, but if you save metadata with the media files you'll be able to work it out. @@cayars can provide a knowledge base link
Carlo 4560 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 You should be able to just following the naming convention for movies like this: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming For TV Series/Shows: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110-tv-naming Carlo
bellocarico 4 Posted April 27, 2020 Author Posted April 27, 2020 Reading all the comments I realised I didn't really do a good job explaining myself. Let me try again :-p My movies are always in a folder, the folder is named after the movie. the folder usually contains 3 files: -movie file -image file -subtitles file Regardless of the matching/identifying I would prefer emby to use the locally sptred image (same folder as the movie) rather than go and download from internet. Sorry if I didn't explain myself clearly on the OP Thanks!
Carlo 4560 Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Here is the contents of "Bad Education (2019)" I just pulled off my system. This movie doesn't happen to have an external sub but should show you other graphic files. Emby uses all my images with media as they are actually from another metadata mananger.
Riggs 312 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 IF Under naming convention and IF under the movie folder you have Example: Folder name: Avatar (2009) Movie name: Avatar (2009) then poster.jpg fanart.jpg clearart.png Emby ALWAYS will take your local info first, that is why naming is important. Then Emby will take from internet the Cast, plot, etc and some another extra image that you don't have if you check that kind of image on the fetcher options in your library. Something like this:
