[Solved] Android app - automatic subtitle playing

I watch a lot of Asian shows. It would be good to set it up so that your preferred subtitle language automatically plays when the next show runs.

I'm just lazy hahaha

Yeah and I have it set up but for some reason it wasn't autoplaying the subtitle file.  It does it on a different thing that I started via the web app so I was just wondering if it was an issue w/ the android player.  *shrug*  It's more of a inconvenience than anything tbh.

This is how I have it set up but when you play a show with an english cc it starts as off which is an inconvenience.

Try changing the Subtitle mode from Smart to Always with your previous settings.

 

Let us know how that works.

If I'm seeing it to always play subs won't that mean it will automatically play subs when I'm even watching something that's in English? Then I have to turn that off...so not really saving me effort. Just distributing it.

 

What does smart mean?

I want to see how it works for you as a diagnostic based on what I asked you to try.

 

Smart means it will only show CC when you don't have the language matching your setting.

English normally but for korean shows korean with subtitles

It is the very first option.  Look at the first file you uploaded and it's the very first option on that page.

It still works because most of these files don't have eng dubs.

 

Of course it still is putting subs when I don't want it now because it's set as always.

See above quote. Configure it back to smart.

Remember that track selections are saved per user, per file, so it's best to try with something you haven't played yet.

I've never played this show before. I just added it to the server .
