Playback information in Dashboard

Hi all,

 

I'm running Emby Server 4.4.2.0 in a Docker container on Unraid.

 

I've noticed some glitches with the information provided on the playback

of videos in the Emby Server dashboard.

 

1) The info says "direct streaming" but transcoding information is shown (see attachment)

 

2) The info says "transcoding" but no transcoding information is shown (can't reproduce at the moment)

I also run Emby in a docker on unraid.

 

What you are seeing is probably not wrong.

 

I believe that "direct streaming" means that "something" is being changed... it could be as simple as a container swap based on the playback device.  It may not be full "transcoding" per se, but would create a log file.  If you provide that, someone could probably tell you what's going on.

 

"Direct Play" means that nothing is changing.

 

At least that's the way that I remember it.  Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had a look at the ffmpeg log file which confirms your point.

I probably never paid enough attention to that.

 

I haven't been able to reproduce the second "glitch" as of yet,

I'll try again when have the time.

 

Edit: I could have figured this out but pressing the info button. May bad!
