Bug with custom images on folders

Latest server beta, but this was happeninig also way before totally randomly ...

Library is home videos or Mixed library.

 root library folder

  - folder1

  - folder2

  - folder3

 And so on....

Initaliy i change image on every folder, put my own custom image, and it sticks for several scans...., and than after some X library scans, there are either no images on folders that were uploaded for that folder or  emby changes image to auto generated.

Final result image after scan broke folder images is in attachment, and in logs there is nothing concerning this issue, images just disappear or change to auto generated.

It is hard to reproduce this as it happens randomly after some time.

Hi, where are the image files located?

Hi Luke,

Images are uploaded from computer to emby server through web app, so i suppose images are stored in metadata folders on server. Server is Ubuntu 18 lts.

Is it possible you have something clearing the contents of that? Because that's really the only reason the images would get lost.

Not really, images were uploaded initially when i created the Home videos library. Yesterday after initiating manual scan of only that library, images from folders were removed / replaced.

I m once again going through yesterdays log trying to find something about this.

Log is huge it will take some time to go through yesterdays manual scan, but this log snip is the the start of that scan after some new content was added into Home Videos library.

Right on start as u can see log says that images are updated for folder Education, Masterclass and so on...

On library level settings only thing that is turned on is Download images in advance.

Name the folder icon "folder.jpg" and place it in the folder it represents.

Thanx for tip, will try this and see if it will happen again.

But this will not solve occasional issues for anyone who uploads images to server using web app.

Should be the exact same thing unless Emby can not write to the folder.

Right he is correct, we'd have to look at an example of that. Thanks.

Puting folder.jpg in root of every folder works yes.
