Thumbail images interval question?

If I set my thumbnail interval to Chapter Markers what happens if a movie or show has no chapters? Does Emby default back to using 10 seconds or does it just skip creating the thumbnails?

If a movie has no chapters, Emby creates chapters at five-minute intervals.

 

Which is a pain if it's, say, a 7-minute video or something; I've had to manually create a chapter at zero minutes to override it in cases like that, but for the most part it's helpful.
