macv 2 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Sorry, false alarm, partly. It had a similar name as a previously deleted file, the only difference being the number in the S__E__ numbering and the file was marked "played".I guess the question now is, should the server use the Unique Id or something, to make sure it can distinguish between similar files?
ebr 16185 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hi. If it had the same season and episode number it was not a "similar" file - it was the same item as far as the system is concerned.
macv 2 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) As I mentioned, the file names are different. The description showed general info instead of episode-specific info; it’d be cool to pull the episode descriptions instead. Edited April 21, 2020 by macv
Luke 42080 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 As I mentioned, the file names are different. That doesn't matter. If the season and episode numbers are the same, then they'll be treated as such and grouped together.
macv 2 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Just so I understand, what exactly is the same between 2 files, are you saying?Do you mean the actual video content being the same but with 2 different file names? If so, that was not the case here; they were 2 different files with different names, from the same season of the same show.
macv 2 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) No, not sure where you got that impression of the same episode number from... Showing the show description instead of episode description suggests that Emby does not recognize at the episode level, only at the show level. Edited April 21, 2020 by macv
Luke 42080 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Can we look at specific examples of folders and file names? Thanks.
