interman 18 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 In my own words. Short version. On some playback (non specific files) the audio will cut out anywhere from a few seconds to 10 seconds. Very annoying. Longer version: Windows 10 server.Version 4.4.2.0 Anrdoid phone app: Version 3.1.19 Chromecast: 3rd generation, firmware, 1.42.183786 ORBI mesh network (more than enough bandwidth). When playing some files, the audio will break for 1 to 10 seconds. No disruption in video. Tried changing subtitles, not change, tried forcing trans coding, no change. This latest video: Emby Theater client - no issues Emby chrome client on computer, no issues Android client, no issues. Attaching logs as described in "How to Report a Problem". Also included the latest file info that failed. I am happy to troubleshoot as this is becoming very annoying. Note, I would like to keep hardware acceleration turned on if possible, as I play 4K files this way and have an hardware encoder in the server to speed it up (and it works). I have tried some different settings (too many to list) with no changes in results. What should I do next? Thanks, Don embyserver.txt Video Information.nfo
Luke 42079 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Hi, are you still running into this? What is the total bitrate of the video?
interman 18 Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) LLLLUUUUUKKKKKEEE!!! I thought I lost you. Good to hear your text. Yes, still having the problem. Several videos do this, but from the one video that know repeats the issue: Audio Title Dolby Digital+ 6 ch (Default) Codec EAC3 Channels 6 ch Sample Rate 48,000 Hz Default Yes I have tried turning on and off hardware acceleration, with and without subtitles, and changing subtitles (I think you recommended this before, but I am getting old). Could it be the EAC codec? Edited April 30, 2020 by interman
interman 18 Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Hey Luke, I played a bunch of files and it seems to be the EAC3 codec. Any thoughts on this?\
interman 18 Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 I have narrowed it down to the EAC3 codec on audio. Basically, I converted a file with known issue from EAC3 to AAC and played it with no problem. EAC3: 1. Android app to Chromecast on LG TV through Onkyo receiver: Audio skips 2. Emby embedded player on LG TV through Onkyo receiver: Audio Skips. 3. Emby theater and emby on Chrome on Windows 10 PC on the network and outside the network, plays fine. AAC. Plays fine on all. Not a rush as I have a workaround. let me know if you want to troubleshoot more.
