Emby on firestick crashing when using guide

Steps to reproduce

Have around 4000 channels

Go to live tv

Open guide

Scroll up or down a few times

Emby crashes to amazon home screen

Hi.  When you try to scroll up and down, is the app actually reacting?

 

Try waiting several seconds until the app is obviously responsive before touching any buttons.

 

I imagine the answer is going to be that is just way too many channels for the stick to handle and we may need to limit it a bit more.  The next release may improve it (due to other changes) as well.

The app does go up and down a few channels after it all loads, moving less than 10 until it freezes. I do believe it is trying to load to many for that little device to handle. I had it running flawlessly for the last month with 900 channels it’s as soon as I changed providers with more channels it broke the app. Is there an ETA on the update?

I cannot be sure when the update will go to general release but you could try the beta version if you wish.

 

For now, I think if you just wait several seconds before trying to move anywhere, it will probably be okay.
