Kieranosaurus 0 Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 (edited) Alright so whenever I try to download or search new subtitles for a movie (any movie) it searches for like one second and then gives me the message "No results found. Have you configured subtitle downloading?" I have double checked my opensubtitles login, and even logged into their website to check, and I'm sure that should all be correct. I have nothing checked as extra options (no hash match or forced subs) and the language is just english, so it seems a little strange to me it can't find any results at all. It used to work for me just fine and I can't recall changing anything in the mean time so I'm unsure what it is I did that could cause this I looked at the logs and the only error message I could find that I believe is caused by my search says "/emby/Items/3194/RemoteSearch/Subtitles/eng?IsPerfectMatch=false" And I'm unsure what IsPerfectMatch=false refers to. I've also included the server log that I took this error message from, any help would be appreciated! embyserver.txt Edited April 18, 2020 by Kieranosaurus
Luke 42083 Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Hi there, can you please go over an example? Thanks.
Kieranosaurus 0 Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 Hi, sure here's what I'm doing to try and get subs Well I go to a movie's page, then in the bar with options (e.g. play, trailer, etc) I click on more. Next I click Edit subtitles and then in the pop up menu make sure the language is set to English, and the two boxes (hash check and forced subs only) are unchecked. Then I press search, the loading circle spins about once and then it immediately says No results found. When I check the log I can't find anything that tells me what the problem could be (I've had an error message there in the past telling me I was over my daily limit, but that's not the case now) All other subtitle related settings I could find should be fine, subtitle mode is set to default, and it recently did the scheduled download subtitles task And this has definitely worked for me in the past so I'm just confused what changed in the meantime
Luke 42083 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 What movie did you try? Can you please provide discussion of an example? What movie did you try in the server log above? If you don't know, then please try again and attach a new emby server log. What subtitle providers have you enabled on your movie library?

So I believe in the above log I tried Star Wars: A New Hope, but just to be sure I'll attach a log of me trying it again with that movie. So basically I just go to the movie's page, I click on more, then on edit subtitles. Then I search for regular english subtitles and it just loads for a split second and then immediately says no subtitles found. (which is strange because it's not that unknown of a movie) The only thing I can see in the logs is the message I already mentioned above: localhost:8096/emby/Items/3196/RemoteSearch/Subtitles/eng?IsPerfectMatch=false I only have Opensubtitles enabled as provider. embyserver.txt
Luke 42083 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I only have Opensubtitles enabled as provider. Where did you do this?
Kieranosaurus 0 Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 Where did you do this? I have the Opensubtitles plugin installed on the server, and in the settings screen for that entered my OpenSubtitles login info
Luke 42083 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I have the Opensubtitles plugin installed on the server, and in the settings screen for that entered my OpenSubtitles login info Is that all you did? Did you see the help text at the bottom of the open subtitles login screen?
Kieranosaurus 0 Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 Is that all you did? Did you see the help text at the bottom of the open subtitles login screen? I also made sure all the settings for the OpenSubtitles were turned on in all the library settings. Like I mentioned before it has worked fine for me in the past, exactly the way I'm trying now, except that now it just doesn't return any results
Solution Kieranosaurus 0 Posted April 23, 2020 Author Solution Posted April 23, 2020 Is that all you did? Did you see the help text at the bottom of the open subtitles login screen? I don't know what I did I just went through all of the steps one extra time and now suddenly it works again like before, so there must have been something I missed. Thanks very much for your help!
aaronsomek 13 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Where are you located? I'm in Australia and have to use a VPN to access opensubtitles and others, because our government have eaten too many crayons and think downloading subtitles constitutes piracy.
