Nightsax 2 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Hello, When I start Emby server on Windows 10, it is somehow displayed in English, although I'd like it to be in French.Sometimes, after an update it does display in French, and then back to English for some ignored reason. On the website though (when I click "browse library" or "configure Emby") everything is displayed in French. This is a minor problem for me, but it would be nice if you could help me to fix it. Thanks for your help.

Nightsax 2 Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 None. My system is up to date, without any issue. The whole system is in French, only Emby server (taskbar) shows up in English for some reason.

Each time I update (I just did) it is showing in French. Then if click on "restart Emby server", it is still in French. But if quit Emby, then launch it again it is back to English... till the next update. So something is probably wrong when saving languages settings or something. Would appreciate some help. Thanks

Luke 42078 Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 @cayars can jump on with you and take a look. One possibility is you have two server installations on your system but don't realize it. Another is maybe you have some backup and restore software that is reverting the server's data folder to a prior state.
Nightsax 2 Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 Ok thanks, I already tried to uninstall/reinstall Emby with no luck. I only use Ccleaner from time to time, and I never restore or backup so I don't know. l'll wait for @cayars to reply then.

Carlo 4561 Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 @Luke The issue is the task bar icon menu not following the language change. Here's a screen shot showing the issue. French Language is selected in Emby and also in Windows.

While it's in French, if I restart server, it remains in French. But if I quit Emby and restart, then it's back to English forever. Hope it helps

Carlo 4561 Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Yes I did. 1 install only. server config is updating correctly. The UI itself DOES change languages just fine. It's only the pop up menu when you right click the Emby icon on the task bar that's wrong.
Luke 42078 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 OK currently after you change the language setting, you will need to restart the server in order for it to take effect with the windows system tray. Does that help clear this up or is there still an issue?
