escapist1234 5 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 I've recently updated to 4.4.2.0 and wondered why the decision was taken to remove the release year shown under movies/TV shows within Collections? Any plans to reintroduce? 3
Luke 42083 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Hi, we got a number of complaints about it from users not understanding what the years meant. It might work if you manually enter the year into the collection.

This is not about said Collection having a year, each item should still present a year. previous version 4

C.S. 93 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hi, we got a number of complaints about it from users not understanding what the years meant. Just inside collections? They understand it's the year of release everywhere else, but then they get confused when looking at a collection? These people need help.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 @@Luke, if the collection contains items that normally display years under the item, it makes sense to show it in the collection too. Presumably the problem comes up when viewing collections of mixed items where some items don't display a year normally, such as TV shows. If possible, I'd like to see the UI at least show years when a collection only contains items that normally display years. My collections are only movies. Movies show years outside collections so I'd like them to in the collection too. I'd understand if I had a mix of movies and TV that the year got dropped as the UI cut down to lowest common denominator.
Luke 42083 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 If it's in the metadata of the collection I believe it will show. 1
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 If it's in the metadata of the collection I believe it will show. I don't see an option in the metadata editor for this but if you get me directions I'm more than happy to test. The only option I saw was an option to put in a year for the collection which doesn't let the movie release year show under the movie title in the collection view.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 This is about items years within a collection not the collection itself as show about. But for clarity here is what is seen within the collection. Items missing release year. 1
raudraido 48 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Hi, Before latest update, collections had release year also written out after the title. Is it possible to get it back?
Luke 42083 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Ok so we're talking about the year of each item. Yes we can restore that. Thanks. 2
Gfpiccolo 4 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Hello, in global libraries, under the title movies, i've enabled the option for display the release year, and i see that if the film goes in a collection, when i go into the collection, i see only the movie title, the release date disappear, though the display Year option is enabled. anyone know if this thing is solvable? thank you Edited April 30, 2020 by Gfpiccolo
