cassieabbie 0 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 In need of some help. I have created an emby connect account and I have all my media uploaded. Emby works great from inside my home network. I want to share my account/server with a friend to use at her home. I have tried to add a new user, but get this message "The Emby Connect user is already linked to another user on this server." She does not have access to the account. I have tried multiple things to fix this and nothing is working. Any suggestions?
darkassassin07 652 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) The emby connect account you have created is your personal account for you to get into the local user on your own server. Your friend will have to create her own emby connect account using her own email address. Then you link the email she used for her account to the user you have created for her on your own server. This allows her to go to http://app.emby.media to get to your server instead of having to know the ip address even when/if it changes. Note: when you create a user for her on your server, be sure to set a password for it. Failing to do so leaves your server unsecure and could let anyone that stumbles across it get in. ebr 16184 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Hi. Also, you don't have to use Connect at all if you don't want to. Just create the user on your server then give your friend the address of the server as well as the user and password you created.
adventurousman 0 Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 And how do you do that? Is there a step by step guide?
