garlicpizza 0 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I'm using the latest Emby Server (emby-server-qnap_4.4.2.0_x86_64.qpkg) for my QNAP TS-653B. I have a local disk pool with media files, which I want to access via Emby. Now this works fine, but I want to have Emby read-only permissions on the actual media files. I understand that metadata has to be written on the disk, which requires write permissions and that's fine. I was hoping to find an option to use an SMB share for the library, where I could restrict the permissions with a read-only user for Emby, but I haven't found such a thing. Is there any way to give Emby read-only permissions on my media library?
Luke 42077 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Is there any way to give Emby read-only permissions on my media library? So i guess there's no way to configure this in the QNAP file system?
garlicpizza 0 Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 So i guess there's no way to configure this in the QNAP file system? Not that I am aware of. In QNAP I can only open Emby, but have no further "App"-specific settings.
