My apologies if this has been answered before.

I have a folder with several sub-folders, the first three display the content as sub-folders which is what I am looking for, but the remaining nine folders display the sub-folder contents on one page. I have checked the configuration of each folder in Emby and in Windows but cannot see any issues. It only seems to affect Doctor Who. I have also created a new sub-folder within Doctor Who which displays correctly as a folder when empty, but when content is added it changes from folder view (second screenshot) to the view in the third screenshot. The screenshots below may explain. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, our folder view for TV libraries isn't really a perfect folder view. It's a folder view as you expect, until you click into a Series, and then it switches to the normal series display.

It's always possible to revise this in the future, it's just the way we've always done it.

Thank you very much for your quick response. Is there any reason why 3 out of the 12 sub-folders display differently?

It is difficult to say just like the others are identified as a Series instead of a folder.  Ideally we would probably have to look at the content of the folders.  To possible see why on appears a folder and the other appears a Series.

Something with in the folder itself triggers the view/item identification.

It is very strange as each of the 12 folders are arranged the same way. Each sub-folder contains between 1 and 8 episodes

For example:

Main Folder > Sub Folder > Sub Folder > Episode.mp4 (the format may differ)

Because based on naming maybe they are not being detected as series and seasons, so if you're not following our tv naming guidelines, that could explain it.

Thank you very much. its a strange one as all folders contain the same structure just different names. I will take a look at the naming guidelines.

Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

Sorry it has been a few months now, but I found out that once a folder goes over 99 (in this case 100+) it transforms the folder view into a series view. So, for the first three doctors I could see the folder view because their episode numbers were 01 - 74, but because from the fourth doctor onwards went over 100 (episodes 75 - 155) it turned them into the series view. I hope that makes sense.

I originally resolved this by renaming all the folders so that the episode numbers wouldn't go over 99...which worked well, but then last month I decided to re-arrange them all into series folders anyway haha 😁. Just thought I would give you an update.
