Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 If you are referring to Official and Beta, no. This was removed a while ago as it was creating to many conflicts. Do to changes in the beta release you can not just switch back and forth. Otherwise you may have to start over.

So I guess I misinterpreted title and post wording as this is specific to running as a Service. But in reality I don't see why running as service does not download the update and apply on stop and start of service. I know it works in my manual testing on Windows.

mcoyle76 2 Posted April 10, 2020 Author Posted April 10, 2020 OK, I thought I seen those options before, but didn't notice that they went away after I started running emby as a service. So i guess I will have to leave emby running with the account logged in, and locked. I like running it, without leaving the user logged in and locked. Is emby ever going to have a service built into it to where it will run without an account being logged in, and also update itself on its own?

I am asking because if for some reason the server gets restarted due to power failure and comes back up and no one is able to log back into it so the application can start again.
darkassassin07 652 Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) I just have my comp set to automatically login to the user emby is installed under on power on; with emby set to auto start on startup like any other application. Win 10 auto-login The machine is in a physically secure location though. Not the best plan if you don't trust those that have physical access. Edited April 10, 2020 by darkassassin07 1
