DwarvenLord1 4 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I know Books are far down the list of things to do, so this is for clarification of how things work at present. I imported my Calibre library of TONS of ebooks. I HATE Calibre's web interface! But I have some questions about how ebooks work in Emby. I have multiple versions of books in different formats. Is there ANY way to show the format of the book? The only way I can find now is to edit the metadata, look at the file name, and go to the next to find whatever format I am looking for. Not really useful. I also have a number of documents in txt format, and Emby isn't picking these up. Is there a way to change what formats are scanned for? I can always script some updates to the SQL table to append the file extension to the book name, but I fear that they will be overwritten when Emby updates the library, and it will become a nightmare to maintain. Any insight?
Luke 42085 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Hi, yes we'll improve books features in future updates. Right now I don't have any quick answers
DwarvenLord1 4 Posted April 9, 2020 Author Posted April 9, 2020 I figured that was the case. Thanks. One quick question though, if I go through and script updates to the database to put the file format in the name of the title field so it shows in Emby, are there any processes in Emby that will overwrite that data? Automatic directory scans, manual library rescans, or metadata refresh?
