The logs report exactly what he entered and nothing more.

I have not been able to get any SMTP settings to work - I get the same error.

yes i try with gmail.
I tried with outlook but it is impossible now with the system of authetification.

Are you using an app password with your Gmail account, rather than your actual password?

This is my setup for Gmail, using the Gmail app password instead of my real password:

I changed the password again. It works now. Incomprehensible, but it works.

Amazingly I just did the same and it works. Weird, been trying unsuccessfully for weeks.
