Hello everyone! Good news today, I just tried to login into emby and everything works perfect! I don't know if the developer team worked on it but everything seems ok now...
Thank you for your help!

I have had a similar issue the last few months where while in the settings sections of Emby, any drop down selection box on the right hand side of the settings screens do not work. Left clicking does not have any reation on the drop downs, they do not open/work.

Edge and Fire Fox work fine but in Chrome, again, the drop downs do not function so I am unable to make simple changed like themes or anything else.

Text dialog boxes and check boxes do work. Only issue is drop down boxes.

Google Chrome is up to date
Version 81.0.4044.122 (Official Build) (64-bit)

If you see this happen again or anything like it, try going into debug mode and see if any events get fired when you click on the different elements.  Who knows if you'll see anything but it only takes a minute to do and could uncover something unusual or give maybe give a clue.

i have the same problem. just did a reinstall. entire operating system ect. reinstalled emby. when i go to login it has my username. but if i click the password box it activates a link up on the top where the emby logo is. i can sign in through wndows edge. but chrome is my preferred browser. anyone have an idea how to fix the abovementioned issue?

Could you post a pic of what you're referring to?

when i type in the password box is highlights the emby premier box... only in chrome. It also will not allow me to change username or password. even though all the password info is cleared from  chrome. But as chrome is the preferred browser.. it makes it a pain in the butt to log in.

Ignore the premiere box as that doesn't have anything to do with it.

So you're saying you can't type anything in the password box above?  Can you type a different username?

nope. cant change username or password. into chrome and if y click on any of the prompt boxes it highlights the emby premiere box. I can uncheck save password but that's it.  I also noticed if I open the library in windows edge it duplicated every media item. even though only 1 file exists on the drive.

Was this ever fixed? I had this start happening to me after a fresh windows 10 install, I can get around the problem by disabling javascript in chrome dev tools. It seems the focus flips through all the controls on the login page every time you refocus on user it moves the focus off again.

On the off chance you have a joystick or game controller attached to this PC try unplugging it to see if the problem goes away.  I mention this because we've seen a few people have weird issues like you mention with these controllers plugged in.  If this does happen to be the case let us know.

Thanks, this resolved it, I have a racing wheel unplugging it prevented this from happening.

It's a weird but I think introduced by MS with some recent update.

Don't know if this will work or not but you could try to find an older driver for the controller and see it that fixes this.

But it's not an Emby issue so there isn't anything really we can do about it.

you can disable joysticks and xbox controllers from acting as a windows input device using this.

I had done this in the past, but I recently reinstalled windows, soon as you mentioned the joystick I remembered about this setting.

That's great info right there.

My two cents, I have the same problem. When I disconnect my Thrusmaster TS-XW usb gaming wheel, the problem dissapears.
