Live TV OSD info?

Any chance of getting season/episode number and episode name when you bring up the OSD while watching live TV?  What’s displayed (see attached) is pretty sparse. Note that I’m using the Virtual TV plugin here so all the programming is local content.

 

I see that the web app includes the episode name at least  so I assume this is an app specific request? Feel free to move to the Live TV section if this is a more general request.

the web app does. Asked for this to be added to android tv a month or so ago as episode names are not given in virtual tv channels

Yes the web app shows the episode name. Season and episode number would also be very useful if possible.

The guide will show episode and season number if you select a show and view its details page so the info is there, it’s just not displaying on the OSD like illustrated in my screen shot.

Can you show screenshot examples? It doesn't make sense that spaceboy would see it and you don't if it's actually in the data for both of you. thanks.

@@Spaceboy sees the episode name in the web osd, not the episode/season numbers. In the Android TV osd we see nothing of this at all, but two times the channel number! Edited April 5, 2020 by pünktchen

This is the only place that you can get episode name - season number - episode number. See attached. The program guide itself is also lacking any info other than the show name as you can also see in the screen shot.

 

My original post has a screen shot showing what the full screen video playback OSD displays.
