Misinthe 46 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Hi everyone, I have a bunch of TV shows that Emby is not finding subtitles for, I have the "Requiere a hash match" checked on the library's settings, should I uncheck that? How bad would the subtitle match would it be without that? Thank you.

Misinthe 46 Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 Hi, does the help text underneath the option help clear up what the trade-offs are for this option? Yes, I just wanted to see if anyone has some first hand experience, to see if it would be a viable option or not, like, do people usually get good or bad results without the Hash Match.
Luke 42081 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Sometimes you will get bad results unfortunately, it's just the nature of the beast. But sometimes it will be fine. You have to just try them out after downloading.

If I uncheck that, would it still prioritize Hash Match first? Like, If I add a movie I would prefer it to get a Hash Match before getting a random one.
Solution Luke 42081 Posted April 5, 2020 Solution Posted April 5, 2020 Yes it will still prioritize that. 1

utisz 0 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I also have a similar problem - looks like my emby can't find the subtitles in my own language for some show episodes. It does bring results when "search subtitles" are done, but, the list contains one or two elements for some eppisodes wheas opensubtitles.org displays at least 10 results for the same episode for my preferred language.

Hi, we'd have to go over an example in order to really be able to respond to that. Thanks.
utisz 0 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Hello there, The Coupling Season 2 Episode 2 for instance - https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/sublanguageid-all/idmovie-87068 Emby does not bring the subtitle (Turkish), brings another episode instead. I had to manually download all episodes for this show, every episode had different problems (either different episodes, or, no results in search when there are at least a few in open subtitles, for instance)

UnderMiner 11 Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Hello, Could you posted a screen capture with the emby subtitle information. Could you please let me know where to find this subtitle search information on the windows server (or emby app). I'm trying to troubleshoot the system because at the moment I want to receive English (.en) subtitles from opensubtitles but for some reason emby retrieves Spanish (.es). I want to learn more Spanish and want to see the subtitles on occasion but I cannot locate the controls in the emby server. Thanks.
Luke 42081 Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I think the OpenSubtitles search engine is only returning that result due to the hash match.
