Playback Error. No Compatible Stream are Current Available.

Hi Luke,

 

I'm getting the compatible streams playback error that I had seen a few people post about in the past.  I looked through their solutions and nothing seems to be applicable for me.  This only seems to effect some movies, but I can't figure out what is different about some and not others.

 

Attaching log files and there should be some transcode files that are an example of a file that does, and a file that does not get the error.

From my experiance it might be worth checking that the hdd sata lead is connected properly. I have had this happen before.

Thank you Dredd! Other files in the same folder are playing correctly though, so I'm assuming that to mean that the storage is otherwise OK.

I have the same error.  As noted when it has occurred for others previously, the same files play perfectly in 5 other video playback programs on my server (Windows Media Player, VLC, photos, Films and TV,  and even ITunes)
 
All my movies are ripped from the original DVD's by Handbrake into MP4's or M4V's.
 
Movies ripped a while ago work perfectly.  Movies ripped recently work perfectly on all the other players.  But Emby won't play the ones ripped recently, either on my server or through my network to my Android TV box.
 
Everything is set to default values.

I don't know if it is relevant, but I notice in the logs directory another file, embyserver.txt, which contains mention of some errors. It was generated right after the log of the failed ffmpeg-transcode file. I am attaching it.

Ok we're going to have to make an additional adjustment for certain m4v files. It will be resolved in 4.4.2. Thanks.

Thanks for the update Luke.  Are you aware of any work-around in the short term?

If you play with an Emby app that can direct play the m4v, there will be no problem. We'll have 4.4.2 out very soon. Thanks.

Would a downgrade to an earlier version of Emby server fix it?  I never had this problem before.  If so, how do we downgrade until 4.4.2 comes out?
