remid12 5 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Hi team, Just to says that I'm also waiting for this feature. Thanks for your work ! 1
MKCustodial 5 Posted December 13, 2025 Posted December 13, 2025 I just posted about this, so yes, I'd love to see this implemented. 1
zac115 7 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 So this topic has been going on for a while. do we know when this is going to be put in the next update? one piece (the anime) has 5 orders and i need to use the Streaming Order. 1
maring7 5 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Emby team is so slow to implement basic stuff. Paid users are not getting the best of it sadly... Please, spend a couple days on this feature maybe? Edited February 10 by maring7 3

Emby hasn't been updated in a long time, with no new features or app updates for Android TV compatibility... As a paying user, I sometimes feel cheated. Anyway, I hope the Emby team sees this message. @Luke 1

Painkiller88 250 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 once again this seems to be a never ending emby story. As i saw when this topic startet i already knew, this is another dead end on emby side. This is really so frustrating, as luke is writing since the beginning this is "planned for a future update" everytime i read this, i know it is just a far far dream. 2 1
sergiovassari 0 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Here you can see another exemple: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/spongebob-squarepants#seasons PS. Four years and still no solution? Oh my... Obviously I don't understand this, but is it really that difficult to implement?

Does anyone know if there's an option to change the metadata to "Emby, don't get the data from tvdb, but from this other place," so the order would be correct or at least better? Because in the case of SpongeBob SquarePants, the only way to get it correct is Absolute Order.

Because in the case of SpongeBob SquarePants, the only way to get it correct is Absolute Order. There is a mention in tvdb that an API exists that has this feature. So, perhaps it's no longer a matter of waiting for tvdb to release the compatible API, as it already exists. I don't know, I find myself here asking people I don't know in a forum for a feature that would put my SpongeBob SquarePants series in the correct order. Philosophically, this is kind of sad and pathetic. Developer, please implement this functionality so we can get on with our lives. Thank you.
DarkStar1977 121 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Good Luck @sergiovassarithis weekend we reached the amazing number of 6 years waiting for this feature ... 6 YEARS !!!!!! 1 1

Let it process the metadata with the alternative season order from TVDB set. Once complete, copy it back over to Emby and use the NFO reader to import. But honestly, it's frustrating. Every time I do this, I ask myself why not just keep using Jellyfin. Everything I miss in Emby, Jellyfin already has. Take a look around the forum, many important feature requests just get brushed off with “Planned for future”. It's basically a running joke already^^ 3 hours ago, sergiovassari said: but is it really that difficult to implement? As a developer I can say no, it isn't. And it doesn't seem to be for the Jellyfin developers either, who rely solely on donations. But apparently, it is for the developers of a mostly paid product like Emby 1 1
zac115 7 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Ok so seeing how its been 6 years and something as simple and updating the back end of Emby to talk to TVDB's API in order to get the other orders i would like to know how i can have emby just ignore series that have these problems with orders. This way I can go in by HAND and fix them MYSELF because Emby cant seems to do the very thing that its paid version is supposed to do its self. For real @Lukewhen is this going to be looked into and added in a upcoming update. I think 6 years is a little to long for something that is so important like metadata. like that's kind of what makes emby and all other server programs useful. Its the automatic gathering of said metadata that really makes them shine and allows one to put all their media in a Netflix like manner. This really needs to looked into. 6 years is laughable. I'm tempted to fix everything by hand. But there are over 100 episodes. And yes, the fact that we pay for features and still have basic things missing doesn't seem right. I'd trade that garbage Cinema Trailers for TVDb Orders anytime.
