4K playback issue

hi guys, i have been with plex lifetime pass for many years, but recently want to switch to emby as some issues of plex.

 

emby server is on win10.

i am using free version now, have tried 1080p which are totally fine. but with 4K, emby theater just frozen and back to home page. (i am aware only 1 min for free version, but it doesn't play even 1 second) and kodi can play buy washed out. while plex media player has no problem, it can directly play.

 

so my question is do i need premiere to unlock some functions to play 4k videos?

btw, on my samsung s10+, 4k can direct play but washed out. my sony Android tv not 4k ( bought a fews years ago), can't play at all, neither plex or kodi.

also is there any option to force the plackback aspect ratio to cover always? now i have to change everytime.
