rbjtech 5284 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) Hi - the new 4.4.0.40 release has introduced what I can only describe as fake scrolling when using the alphabet picker. When going from A-B - yea it looks cool when scrolling through your movies - but when you have a lot of movies (1000+) jumping from A to say D it looks awful as all you get is a black screen with lots of flickering for what looks to be about 3 seconds, then the movie posters fill in when it 'slows down'. The 3 seconds limit also seems to apply even if you go from A to Z - it's still 3 seconds regardless of the size of the jump. is there any way to turn this off (it was an instant jump in the previous release) - or reduce the delay to a max of say 1 second just to keep the scroll effect, but keep the screen filled with movie posters while you get to your final destination ? This is happening on both the Web and Android client - LG appears to be an instant jump as it was previously. Thanks. Edited March 27, 2020 by rbjtech
darkassassin07 652 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) I'm not a big fan of the fake scrolling either tbh. Definitely happy to see the pagination disappear; but having it automatically scroll through the list when you select a letter just looks tacky imo. Especially when the posters don't load fast enough so you just get a wall of black boxes and text flying by. I much preferred it snapping to the letter you select. rbjtech 5284 Posted March 28, 2020 Author Posted March 28, 2020 There's currently no option for this. ok - I appreciate it not something that is broken - but I do feel it needs a bit of tweeking as the user interface has been enhanced over the years and you have successfully made it snappy and responsive - but the 'scrolling' has taken it back to years gone by when you had to wait a few seconds for things to load .. a very odd decision imo. Please don't apply it to the LG client
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 All clients will get it and there are several topic on this. Preferring jump instead of scroll to. 1
rbjtech 5284 Posted March 28, 2020 Author Posted March 28, 2020 Hi - sorry I did search originally but couldn't see anything, but just found this thread on 'Virtual Scrolling' with some of the same observations as myself - please could you merge the threads ? (or delete mine and I'll follow the original one) - Thanks. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/82293-44012-virtual-scrolling/page-6
Spaceboy 2573 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Thankfully in Android tv we do have jump [emoji3]
