raymondjpg 16 Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Minor matter, but before I was able to select a dark theme background for the Dashboard display. Now with Emby Server 4.4.0.40 I can only get the light background. I've tried Firefox, Edge and Chrome, same result. I have a lifetime subscription. On an unrelated matter, is there any way to prevent Emby from scraping for a subdirectory of a directory set up for TV shows? I have tried unsuccessfully with the Metadata Manager to clear all fields and check "Lock this item to prevent further changes" but that doesn't stop the scraping eventually.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Did you reset your preference as this server update set Settings theme to Light? Or is your browser cache being cleared every time you close the browser? If so you can't clear Emby cookies or some items like this get reset to default. There are several topic on this.

Thanks for the response. I have reset my preference for a Dark theme, and cleared cookies and site data in Firefox, but I still only see the Light theme for the dashboard. I have tried this in three web browsers with the same result, and in Edge cleared all cookies and saved website data in the browser to no avail. None of the other themes will display on dashboard, only the Light. I don't have my browsers set to clear data when closing. Could you point me to some of the other topics on this? Perhaps there is something else I could do to restore the Dark theme on the dashboard?

raymondjpg 16 Posted March 26, 2020 Author Posted March 26, 2020 Only other thing it could be is do you have Emby Premiere? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/84104-minor-issue-settings-theme/?hl=theme Thanks for that pointer. None of the suggestions worked for me. Yes I have Emby Premier, and tried repasting the key without success. I can still only get the Light theme on the dashboard display. We may be talking about two different things. When I press the home button I see the Emby Theater screen with the Dark theme that I have selected. That is working fine. Different themes selected at the display tab on dashboard also work fine in Theater. It is the display for the dashboard that I am saying I used to be able to select a Dark theme, but now the dashboard will only display the Light theme with Server 4.4.0.40.

I honestly don't know what to say. It is just a matter of changing the Setting theme. this is a per client setting and only gets changed by having browser history cleared.
raymondjpg 16 Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 It is the display for the dashboard that I am saying I used to be able to select a Dark theme, but now the dashboard will only display the Light theme with Server 4.4.0.40. I think I solved it by applying "Same as main theme" at the "Settings theme:" box at the Display tab. I guess that with the new Server version that the Dashboard is now regarded as a Settings view.
Luke 42079 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 That's correct. All of the settings are blended together.

As your graphic illustrates applying "Same as main theme" to the "Settings theme:" box does the trick. Thanks for your help. As I said a minor matter but too much white in the display hurts my eyes!
Happy2Play 9781 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Can you test appling different settings via Settings Theme. You should get whatever theme you apply. I personally maintain both themes as the same.
raymondjpg 16 Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) Can you test appling different settings via Settings Theme. You should get whatever theme you apply. I personally maintain both themes as the same. I just tried Blue radiance, none of the others. The theme sticks for both Theme and Settings theme if you select the home button after applying the different theme. So I saw Blue radiance on both the Home (Emby Theater) view and the dashboard view. I gave gone back to the Dark theme for both. Also, I was able to apply different themes for both the Home (Emby Theater) view and the dashboard view, so Dark for Theater and Blue radiance for dashboard. I think the trick is to select the home button after making changes to make the settings stick. Edited March 27, 2020 by raymondjpg
