thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Since updating to the newest emby version, Movie Library scan takes forever when a new movies gets added. In addition, the movies are either identified incorrectly, or not at all. My naming convention is not an issue.

Luke 42077 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 To improve the performance of your scans and server, consider removing these plugins: 2020-03-24 09:59:54.899 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.Anime, Version=1.4.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from C:\Users\TKW\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\MediaBrowser.Plugins.Anime.dll 2020-03-24 09:59:54.899 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.SmtpNotifications, Version=3.1.6.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from C:\Users\TKW\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\MediaBrowser.Plugins.SmtpNotifications.dll 2020-03-24 09:59:54.899 Info App: Loading playback_reporting, Version=1.6.9.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from C:\Users\TKW\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\playback_reporting.dll
DwarvenLord1 4 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 (edited) That was rude. Removing unsupported code to test functionality that is not behaving as intended seems like a pretty basic troubleshooting technique. Edited March 24, 2020 by DwarvenLord1 1
pwhodges 2012 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Aside from being unsupported, removing optional items is a basic part of diagnosis, as it helps identify what item (if supported) needs attention. Paul 1
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 so i removed the suggested plugins and I have a major issue. Emby just deleted over 3000movies from my NAS.....i have no idea what happened. logfile.txt
Luke 42077 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 I think it's your Z: drive that is having an issue: file:Z:\Movies\The Nightingale (2019).mkv: No such file or directory
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 (edited) My Z drive is the NAS. the file isn't there because all the movies have been deleted. TV shows and ANime are on the same drive no issues, just the movies got deleted. no errors on the NAS Edited March 24, 2020 by thekingswolf
Luke 42077 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 There's no delete activity in this log. The only thing I can see is the library scan removing them from the database after they were already deleted.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Looks exactly like the other topic. 2020-03-24 12:04:13.791 Info App: Removing item from database, Type: Movie, Name: Hampstead, Path: Z:\Movies\Hampstead (2017).mkv, Id: 931259 2020-03-24 12:04:13.791 Info App: Deleting path D:\My\Emby Server\MetaData\metadata\library\0e\0e9de92d062e71a8e99feb7e97314b71 2020-03-24 12:04:14.130 Info App: Deleting path Z:\Movies https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/84009-44040-deleted-all-my-files/
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 this is exactly what happened......I manually deleted that file because I was grabbing another one....
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 I haven't been able to reproduce this issue on any of my systems, but there would appear to be a delete issue in flat structured libraries. Library items with no same named item folder. Z:\Movies\Hampstead (2017).mkv vs Z:\Movies\Hampstead (2017)\Hampstead (2017).mkv
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 I had several movies like this that are in their own folder structure because there were special features. For example: Z:\Movies\Labyrinth (1986)\Labyrinth (1986).mkv However these files are also deleted, but the folders are still there. no nfo files or anything, just the folders.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 The theory in your issue is Emby thought \Movies was the item folder for \Hampstead (2017).mkv so \Movies was delete.
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 I know, i'm just explaining what I see.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 (edited) I have no idea what the variables are but I can not reproduce this issue on multiple test system with a mixed flat and folder item library. But it does not help what has already happened at least twice in this release. Looks like DELETE needs completely disabled and users use at their own risk. Unless this can be reproduced to find the actual issue. Edited March 24, 2020 by Happy2Play
thekingswolf 48 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 i might just install the server fresh to avoid any conversion problems from previous versions
computerprep 148 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 This looks related to my post over here. Bug happens during movie identification. Results in the parent folder being identified instead of the movie itself. I've posted a server log snippet and attached a full (rotated) server log.https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/84009-44040-deleted-all-my-files/page-4&do=findComment&comment=865942
