Jazzer 2 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 As the title says. One friend I let access to my Emby library has reported to me that the movie he was playing was stopping every minute and that it was unplayable. I looked on to the Server dashboard to see if it was a transcoding problem but Emby says that the movie is direct playing to my friend. Then, if it is direct playing why it is stopping every minute? I also had this problem with some other movies that were direct playing. Maybe I'm doing somenthing wrong but, direct playing means that it should not stop, right? I will leave the server log and the movie log here embyserver.txt ffmpeg-remux-ced63a41-49dd-453e-a0ec-9ccc7fdea9ee_1.txt
Luke 42078 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Hi there, try having them lower the in-app quality setting. This is usually a sign that the bitrate is too high for the connection.
Jazzer 2 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Lowering the quality does not solve the problem. And I have 600mb/s connection in my house and some movies direct playing are also stopping, so I dont think that the connection is an issue.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 If direct playing is having issues then there is either a network or hardware issue. The media is not getting to the player fast enough.
Jazzer 2 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Well I doubt about the hardware issue since I have a RTX 2080TI gpu, i7 8th generation processor and 32 gb of ram. Maybe some ocasional network lag i suppose. If the issue persist over time I will report it here
Jazzer 2 Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 I can confirm this is an issue with a Samsung SmartTV model: UE60J62000, on the same network as a pc and mobile phone the videos play smoothly on both but stops every 10-30 seconds on TV, I have tried reinstalling the app but it didn't work.
Luke 42078 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Lowering the quality does not solve the problem. Can we see an example of that? thanks.

Jazzer 2 Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 Sorry xD. There you go embyserver.txt ffmpeg-directstream-9c85ff9f-7441-40d5-886b-99ddf6cd87da_1.txt
maegibbons 1287 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 So just to get this straight. Your friends is a remote site. He has tried playing the SAME file on several devices and the only one he has a problem with is the Samsung TV? Krs Mark Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk

Krs Mark Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk Yes, and not only that movie, for what he told me is almost all movies. I told him to try on pc and everything worked as intended, so if the hardware is not an issue and nor the network, the only thing that came to my mind was the TV itself Can you try lowering the in-app quality setting? Thanks. That didn't work, movies still stopping after a few secconds. I suggested him to connect the laptop to the tv through HDMI to watch some movies as a workaround but I also wanted to report the issue just to let you know. Maybe it's a bug?
maegibbons 1287 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Sounds like a TV issue. How is it connected. Wired or wireless? And has he tried the opposite? Has he considered getting a Fire TV 4k stick? Cheap enough and will probably sort out his issue. Krs Mark A 'like' is always appreciated!
