Tv guide channels not ordered by sort title

After the update tv guide is not order by sort title I am not happy. When I go to the metadata manager the sort title number are there but are ignored.

I have the same problem. In the „Guide-view“ there is only the option to sort by channel number or by „recently watched“. Only in the „channel-view“ I can sort by sort title.

kind regards,

Hopefully there is a quick fix for this.

Having the same issues...can't sort my long IPTv list of channels...hope it's fixed soon...was working so well for so long.

I've also just had the same problem on Emby Server updating to 4.4.0.40 - channel metadata still stored but being ignored so using channel number instead

@@Luke is there a quick workaround for this situation. I can’t stand looking at the guide like this.

We will need to add a title option to the sorting controls in the guide.

Can it be put on top of the todo pile. Guide just looks horrible in its current format.

For what seems like EVER. I used "Edit Metadata->Sort Title" to get my local channels to display in the proper order.

The main channels are not an issue, it is all the various sub-channels that are broadcast now. So by entering a sort title

for all of my local channels (up to Channel 10) they would all appear in the guide in the proper order. So I would enter

5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 in the "Sort Title" and I good to go. This no longer works - If I sort the guide by title then I see it as I want

for those first 10 channels/sub-channels but the rest of the guide is then in alphabetical order.

Can we get this functionality back? I really would rather not have to go into each and every one of 200+ channels

and add a number to the sort tile field.

I'd also like to not have to wait for channel management to get this back.

You would have to edit all of them so that they all have numeric sort titles.

Why?

I didn't need to do that before - which is why it was an easy fix.

Why??

Because before we were plugging the numbers into the generated sort title, but that's not really a good thing to do because you lose the ability to actually sort by title if you wanted to.

So essentially we had special sauce that you got used to but it shouldn't have been there to begin with.

Well how about we add a little special sauce. Just a little mind you. Not asking for the moon here.

Add another field, sort able item, what ever the proper name for it would be. Something that provides

the same functionality - without the pain of doing it 200+ times. It must be possible.

What's the difference between editing this new field and editing the sort title like you used to?

In your example above, does channel number not already do that?

I have 10 local stations. Each station has 2-6 sub-channels. My local CATV carries all of these but for some reason

the CATV doesn't have the capability to remap ALL of the channels. So for example WBNX is up to 6 channels now,

7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.5 and 7.6 I receive these last 2 channels as 167.1 and 168.1

Under the original "Sort Title" behavior if I added a sort title to all of these channels (the first 10 plus the subs - 29 total edits) then

all the channels would be shown in order in the guide. A bit of pain yes. 200+ edits to achieve the same thing now?? I don't

remember even having to apply a sort after I did the edits.

This same behavior no longer exists. I don't know why. I don't care. Just thought something similar could be added without

much problem.

So no the channel number in this case won't achieve the desired result. Does that answer your question?
