paulduffy 2 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I am trying to find a replacement for Windows Media Center to run on Windows 10. I have used Windows Media Center for a few years with great success, using a HDHomerun Prime tuner box. I managed to download and install Emby server. It seems to recognize my HDHomerun tuners, but when I try to connect to the TV guide info, I get an error message and cannot figure out what to do next. I tried to paste a screen shot here, but it would not work...……..the dialog box said "There was an error downloading TV lineups. Please ensure your information is correct and try again" I triple-checked my information....it is correct, but I keep getting the same error message. What do I do now???? I installed Emby Theater, and it seems to run, but it is not tuning in anything and I do not see any way to select a channel. The guide has no data, and it does not list the channels in my cable service.. I have looked through several pages in the various knowledge base selections, found several links that do not work, and feel totally lost. The quick start guide is cursory, at best, there is no trouble shooting help to be found, I am very frustrated at this point. I would appreciate any help in getting this set up and running. Thanks.
ryanfinger 6 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 (edited) Did u install Emby server for windows? Emby teater connects to Emby server. Edited March 22, 2020 by ryanfinger
ryanfinger 6 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Also, I think you need Emby premiere for liveTV functionality.
arrbee99 1817 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 (edited) Sorry, dumb question, Cable seems to be an American thing and I'm not in America, but adding a HDHomerun in Emby, it says 'Channels with DRM will not be imported'. Is that relevant at all ? Edited March 22, 2020 by arrbee99
Luke 42087 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Yes we need to improve the message but most likely this is due to the emby premiere requirement, if you don't have emby premiere. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks!
paulduffy 2 Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 I got back to this today and signed up for Emby Premiere. This solved the problem. I was able to select the correct TV guide information and it automatically downloaded to my PC. I was then able to tune into live TV. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
